Fleet Buyer

Purposes: 

• To ensure that the vessels are supplied with authorised stores, spares and other products in a timely manner within budget and approved costs, consistent with Company Operating Procedures, Marine Policies and at the most competitive costs. Support the Fleet superintendent throughout all fleet operations.
• Review requisitions with Planning/WH team to process it.

Main Tasks: 

• Follow the Procurement process including planning review, Material Requisition, quotation request from suppliers, PO preparation and approval, and forwarding PO to suppliers.
• Obtain, present and verify quotations received from approved suppliers, in adherence to company policy.
• Continuous follow-up with suppliers for order details, shipment details and communication to all stakeholders.
• Review, monitor, track and update status of all open fleet PO’s, delivery times, any delays to all stakeholders.
• Review, monitor, track shipment documents schedule and payment requirements.
• Work closely with cross functional departments to ensure business goals are met.
• Implement approved Procurement’ policies, processes, procedures.
  Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering best practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
  In conjunction with the Fleet , assist in urgent situations by providing support to assigned vessels or Fleet Superintendents.
• Coordinate supply of ship spares and stores upon authorization from relevant departments.
