Job Description
To plan, coordinate, and implement effective HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures onboard RVOS vessels, ensuring compliance with safety standards and promoting a culture of health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations across all RVOS vessels.
- Conduct audits and inspections to identify risks, hazards, and unsafe practices.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Coordinate vessel HSE audits and ensure non-conformities are closed as scheduled.
- Support the development of vessel HSE plans, procedures, and emergency response readiness.
- Deliver HSE training and orientations to new and current crew members.
- Conduct toolbox talks and emergency drills aligned with RVOS HSE programs.
- Maintain and report on HSE records, KPIs, statistics, and monthly safety reports.
- Liaise with external auditors and clients during inspections.
- Recommend improvements to enhance HSE systems and performance.
Skills
Be suitably experienced in offshore vessel operations (2 years) and hold International Marine Qualification with a minimum of STCW II/2 or III/2. (MASTER/CH.MATE/CH.ENG/2ND ENG) • Fluent in both written and spoken English with Marlins test over 80%. • Hold an HSE Certificate of a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.• Hold an Environmental Certificate of a similar standard to the NEBOSH Environmental Awareness at Work.
Attending or holding a Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis course/certificate • Attended or holding an accident/incident investigations course/certificate. • Holds H2S awareness training certificate.• Holds HUET/BOSIET certificate.
- Degree or recognized certification in Marine Engineering or Nautical
- Proven experience with offshore safety systems and incident investigation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in multicultural environments.
