Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Junior Mud Logger collects and monitors all information, geological samples, and data from sensors etc., coming in via a real-time computer-based data acquisition system during drilling operations.

Principal Accountabilities:
Duties & responsibilities:
▪ Real-time monitoring of drilling activities.
▪ Sample collection, cleaning and drying and preparation of water base mud or oil base mud acquired samples.
▪ Description and organized recording of samples and lithology.
▪ Proper sample depth recording and lag time.
▪ Correlation of samples and gas chromatography readings.
▪ Calculation of DX and pressure interpretation and shale density measurement.
▪ Create and update logs and written reports for Well Site Geologist and client representative.
▪ Contributing to maintain a safe working environment on the rig, by interpreting the data at hand and giving feedback to the Surface Logger Senior, drilling team and client representative.
▪ Onsite customer support.
▪ Maintenance of assigned rig and equipment.
▪ Supervising of operations with rig personnel of the shale shakers to assure proper mesh sizing, accurate sample separation and capture, and proper gas extraction equipment and sensors placement during all operations.
▪ Assist fellow Mud loggers, Data Engineers and Pressure Engineers when needed.
▪ Comply with all quality, health, safety and environment procedures set by GEOLOG and the client to ensure a save safe working environment.

 

Skills

Requirements for position:
▪ University degree in Geology.
▪ Proficiency in English both written and verbal. Minimum C1 level based on Common European.
▪ Framework of Reference.
▪ Medical certificate for major hazards industry.
▪ Strong communication skills, team player, ability to adapt and flexible personality.
▪ Available for international travel.

▪ Investigate workplace accidents and cases of ill-health.

Physical Requirements of the Job:

▪ The job of may require local and international travel
