Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) Technician

             Job Summary: 

The purpose of the Technician’s role is to diligently perform technical tasks related to HT operations in accordance with approved technical procedures, and in compliance with QMS and QHSE requirements

Principal Accountabilities:

Ø   Setup and Operation: Install heating bands, heating elements, and thermocouples for localized heat treatment, ensuring proper insulation and connection to power sources.

Ø   Process Monitoring: Monitor temperature charts and control equipment throughout heating, soaking, and cooling phases to ensure compliance with Procedure/specifications.

Ø   Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate heat treatment charts and reports for quality personnel and weld packages.

Ø   Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to site safety rules, handling high-temperature equipment and electrical systems safely.

Ø   Maintenance: Maintain and clean tools and equipment used in the heat treatment proc

Ø   Provide guidance, direction, and oversight to PWHT assistant personnel and trainees.

Ø   Follow all instructions and directives provided by the immediate supervisor.

Ø   Attend and successfully complete client-required examinations and interviews as necessary.

Ø   Be available to work at all RISAL PWHT job locations as required.

Ø   Adheres to the highest safety standards at all stages of work to prevent incidents or accidents.

Ø   Takes reasonable care of personal health and safety, as well as that of others in the workplace.

Ø   Complies with all statutory requirements related to project implementation.

Ø   Performs all work activities in a safe and controlled manner, following company procedures and controls.

Ø   Promptly reports all accidents, near misses, defects, or events that may impact quality.

Ø   Responds appropriately in emergency situations.

Ø   Actively supports and collaborates in maintaining quality standards.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Ø   Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in electrical resistance heating, induction heating, or combustion fuel firing.

Ø   Experience: Previous experience as a PWHT technician, often required within industrial, fabrication, or shutdown environments.

Physical Ability: Ability to work on-site, potentially at heights or in confined spaces, and to concentrate over long periods.
