Job Summary
Based onshore at the Tanajib Marine Base, the ETO provides technical expertise and maintenance support for a fleet of DP-class OSVs. The role ensures all vessels remain compliant with Saudi Aramco standards through proactive alongside repairs, workshop overhauls, and technical troubleshooting of DP and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair: Execute troubleshooting and repairs on DP1/DP2 systems, Power Management Systems (PMS), and OSV-specific deck machinery (winches, shark jaws) while vessels are alongside.
- Base Operations: Manage shore-to-ship power connections and conduct component-level repairs in the onshore electronics workshop.
- Compliance & Inspection: Perform pre-sailing electrical audits and ensure all bridge electronics and safety systems (F&G, PAGA) meet Saudi Aramco Marine requirements.
- Technical Support: Assist the Electrical Supervisor in reviewing Fleet Purchase Requests (FPR) and managing inventory for OSV-specific electronic spares.
- Vendor Liaison: Supervise third-party service engineers (Kongsberg, ABB, etc.) during onboard service attendance at the Tanajib pier.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Certification: Valid STCW III/6 CoC (ETO) is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years as ETO specifically on OSV-type vessels (AHTS/PSV).
- DP Requirement: Extensive hands-on experience with DP2 Systems is a must.
- Regional Context: Previous Saudi Aramco approval or evaluation is highly preferred.
- Status: Valid KSA Iqama and Driver’s License required.
Technical Competencies
- DP Systems: Troubleshooting Kongsberg, L3, or Praxis systems.
- Power & Control: Proficiency in PLC (Siemens/ABB), VFD drives, and DEIF PPU synchronization.
- OSV Systems: Expertise in anchor handling/towing winch controls and cargo system sensors.
- Communication: Maintenance of GMDSS, VSAT, and internal PAGA systems.
